A future where survivors thrive

About us

Since 2021, FinAbility has provided survivors of domestic violence with financial pathways to build lasting stability and joy.

Even after leaving an abusive relationship, survivors face continuous financial barriers: damaged credit, depleted savings, and overwhelming debt. These challenges make it harder to secure housing, rebuild stability, and break free from the cycles of abuse and poverty.

At FinAbility, we believe every survivor deserves more than survival. They deserve the chance to thrive. That is why we provide free, trauma-informed programs and partner with financial institutions to create lasting safety, stability, and joy.

Why financial empowerment

25%
of women and 14% of men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, and financial freedom is the key to breaking free
99%
of US domestic abuse survivors experience financial abuse, and it is one of the top reasons they feel they can’t permanently leave their harm-doer
$103,767
is the average amount female survivors lose in medical expenses, legal costs, and forgone wages due to domestic violence, causing lasting financial harm
“Too often, survivors are expected to settle for safety alone. At FinAbility, we believe in more. We believe in thriving, healing, and joy that lasts for generations.”

2
Courage

We lead with bravery—willing to challenge the status quo, confront hard truths, and pursue bold ideas. We accept that failure is part of progress and choose growth over comfort, even when the path forward is uncertain
